People want to be entertained. They don't want a boring minute in their lives. People demand more and more to feel entertained. There's no borders that won't be crossed if we continue this way.

There's also a strong urge to entertain, if someone seems a bit bored around oneself it's a disaster. It's seems like it wouldn't be enough to give people company, which I think is the best entertainment. Guess I'm different when it comes to these matters. I don't need much to feel entertained, I don't need to do anything special to get my kicks. I've come to the conclusion that there's no such thing as wasted time. It's just something we decide that is wasted time.

For a couple of hundred years ago there was no internet, no TV, and you didn't have to own a pair of shoes that blow up by the touch of a button to feel "hip". I've been wondering a lot about these times. Especially how living was in bigger towns, in for example London or Paris. People had lots and lots of children, about 10 I'd guess. They lived in one-room apartments. How were they entertained? They hadn't got water or waste disposal. There was literary shit and garbage everywhere in the streets. Just piles of crap. There weren't even any food to eat, everyone had a monotone diet that consisted of bread, water and the occasional piece of meat. The meat wasn't ribs or anything like that. It was probably your neighbour's dog or something you'd found that was thrown away by the aristocracy. So there you were in your one-room apartment with your whole family. You watched out of the window and you saw piles of shit, and if you were really really lucky you could go to the marketplace and see someone get hanged. So to repeat my question, how did people get entertained? Well, my guess is; by people who had a fast and funny tongue. Storytellers. Mythologies, folklore, maybe a few psalms or songs. Real philanthropic ways of entertainment. The things I really enjoy. I'm not saying that we should ditch all our electronics and other ways to be entertained, but maybe this is something we should think about, just a little bit at least? We don't need electronics worth of tens of thousands to have fun! WE are the entertainment. We don't necessarily need all these tools to have fun.

Would be nice to have a electronic-free week once a year. Just for the fun of it. But, oh well... Maybe I should stop blabbing about this and let you think about it for a while!

Take care!
